Fatigue

Fatigue is one of the top concerns, bringing patients to the doctor's office.
For some people it is an afternoon crush, associated with sugar and caffeine cravings, for others waking up tired or feeling "tired and wired".
Sometimes it is exhaustion and chronic overwhelm, feeling burned out.
Pretty often these people have problems  with concentration or memory (" brain fog"), they feel that they have trouble with "willpower", because they cannot stick with diet and exercise or lose extra weight. People suffering from fatigue experience low sex drive, irritability, anxiety, depression, and poor coping skills.

Routine physical examinations and laboratory tests are generally normal, and the prevailing conventional medicine view tends to be "it's all in your head."

Integrative medicine, on the other hand, recognizes that these are real organic abnormalities, dispelling the myth that the condition is psychogenic. Usually, people suffering from fatigue have metabolic mitochondrial defects, neuroendocrine abnormalities, bacterial overgrowth in the intestines, nutritional deficiencies, and inflammatory conditions. In diagnosing these abnormalities, I start with taking each person's history and performing specialized functional medicine lab tests. Based on the results, I prepare a tailored treatment plan to help correct abnormalities, imbalances, and deficiencies, and make recommendations for relevant lifestyle changes, helping to restore health and energy.
